These prestigious awards are presented by the Green Organisation, a UK-based non-profit organisation.
The Joggins Fossil Centre, designed by WhW Architects of Halifax, and the winner of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Architecture in 2007, was selected to receive this prestigious international prize as a result of the hard work, which was undertaken to minimise the impacts of the new centre on the environment.
The awards were presented at the Tower of London at their annual ceremony and was collected by Melanie Cookson-Carter, Operations Coordinator.
"The ceremony was particularly interesting as there were three international awards presented, all to projects, which were of a very high standard. The Joggins Fossil Centre won Gold and I was very proud to collect the plaque on behalf of the Institute."
